The sphere is here

"I like 'em round, and big"
-- Sir Mix-A-Lot

Ashlyn's belly has been swelling like a bag of microwave popcorn. It's amazing how big she's gotten. It still shocks me to realize that there will be soon another person living in this house!

Ashlyn has dealt very well with her pregnancy so far. I'm really proud of her for being such a tough cookie! But man... the last month sucks. The added weight is making her lower back and hips hurt, and the baby has been kicking underneath her ribs in the same spot. Sitting is even uncomfortable. Her body's extra warm, which is a killer in an AC-less apartment in the July heat.

She found the perfect solution for her woes: we stuck an inflatable mattress in her office.

So if you ever hear any snoring while you're walking by the ed-school building...

(Pictures from Week 37)

Fun facts!
  1. Ashlyn had an appendectomy.
  2. Because of the appendectomy, Ash's belly button somehow became a bottomless pit. Seriously... it was like a black hole. We couldn't find the bottom. Until month 8. You'd be shocked at what we found.
  3. That circle in the below picture around her belly button is the incision scar. It used to be completely inside her innie.
  4. Most pregnant women's belly buttons eventually pop outward. Ashlyn's is still flat.
  5. Most pregnant women get a dark line down their belly. Because of the appendectomy, Ash's line is crooked.

Belated pictures

Sorry for the long delay folks! Here is a series of pictures of Ashlyn's progress, starting from several months ago. I've been making up for my failings as a blog manager by making sure Ashlyn gets all the ice cream, massages, and hugs she needs... More to come soon.
