Family Photo Shoot
We did a family photo shoot with Aubrey Trinnaman in San Francisco last month, and just got the proofs. I am so, so happy with how they turned out! Many of the shots were taken in the Chinese Pavilion at Golden Gate Park, where Kris and I married. The photos are such great mementos of our time in the Bay Area and of this special time in our lives. You can view all of the family photos here on Aubrey's site.
We also realized that we basically had no photos of the three of us as a family, since either Kris or I am always behind the camera. We have tons of Saya pics, tons of pics of me and Saya, and tons of pics of Kris and Saya, but very few of the three of us together, and hardly any of just me and Kris. It seemed like a good idea to make an investment in commemorating our lives together right now.
The photo shoot cost $275 for a two-hour sitting, and includes a few prints (additional prints and negatives are available for an additional charge). It seemed like an unbelievable extravagance when I paid for them, but after seeing the proofs, I am so happy we did it. Now, looking at these photos, I would easily spend much more to have them. I heart them.
I bought my two dresses (and Saya's blue dress) the day before the shoot in a panic after realizing I didn't have anything to wear. I wanted our outfits to coordinate but not be too matchy-matchy. I basically justified the expense to Kris by telling him I would wear them into the ground. The blue dress is from Theory and I'm planning to wear it to Maryn's bridal shower and to use it as a work dress. The belt is really versatile too, and I've paired it with a bunch of different outfits. (The only problem with the dress is that it's made from some material that somehow both makes me kinda sweaty AND makes pit stains appear really really dark...so maybe not so good when I'm sweating bullets through my first class, heh heh heh.) The pink party dress is by BCBG and it's just fun. I already wore it to our Goodbye California party and may also wear it to Saya's first birthday party. I may even wear it to work...if I wear a black sweater over it, do you think it would be appropriate?
We're deciding which photos to blow up and print. Any suggestions?
